Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)

Genser has built significant expertise in EPC over the last 15 years, initially building seven power plants in Ghana including the complex coal gasification and syngas treatment/conditioning facility in Chirano in 2014. We continue to operate five plants and has built, operated and then transferred three plants as detailed below:

Genser signed a build, operate and transfer agreement with Golden Star Resources for the delivery of a power plant to power its Bogoso Gold Mine, an open and underground mine located in Southwestern Ghana. The 36MW Bogoso plant was commissioned in September 2009 and was transferred to Golden Star Resources in 2012.

A 7.5MW plant located in Burkina Faso on the mining concession of Orezone Bombore SA, a Canadian listed mining company, was built using ProGen equipment during 2021, completed in 2022 and transferred to the client in February 2023.

We also designed, built and extended a natural gas pipeline, a terminal at the Takoradi Port to import and offload LNG and are currently constructing a gas conditioning plant and two 10,000cbm cryogenic tanks for the storage and export of Butane and Propane, with the support of world-class OEM partners from the US and China.
